First we’ll start off with a fun one, who is Fred the moose, and who are his loyal followers?

Marie: Green Mountain readers met Fred in chapter one of book one, All You Need Is Love, when city girl Cameron Murphy ran her brand new Mini Cooper into Fred on a dark mountain road. When Will Abbott came upon the scene, he was far more concerned about the health of the town moose than he was about the city girl’s brand new car with the crushed front end. It was the start of a beautiful romance between Will and Cameron—and Cameron and Fred, who shows up with enough regularity that Will’s dad surmises Fred has a crush on Cameron. Much hilarity ensues any time Fred pops in for a visit, which is why the readers eagerly look forward to his appearances in each of the Green Mountain books.

The Green Mountain Series features the Abbott, Stillman, and Coleman families. Where are Charley and Tyler in the Green Mountain family tree?

Marie: Charley falls square in the middle of the Abbott family at number five out of ten siblings. She’s a self-proclaimed pain the rear, and you won’t hear her siblings deny that she’s one prickly, pushy, pain the butt. But they love her anyway, and so does Tyler, who’s been trying to get her to go out with him for ages. He doesn’t stand a chance with her until she falls off a mountain, and he sees his opportunity to come to her rescue—in more ways than one!

This book follows the story of Charley and Tyler, can we expect everything to go smoothly for them, or will they hit a few road bumps along the way?

Marie: This is a romance novel! The course of true love never runs smooth, and Charley and Tyler are in for a wild ride before they find their happily ever after. Their story has all the things readers have come to expect from this series—meddling family members, sibling bickering, hot, steamy love scenes and a visit from Fred the moose!

Ain’t She Sweet is set in picturesque Vermont, how do you use this landscape to pull out the stories of your characters?

Marie: The mountain tapestry offers up a lot of opportunities for story, such as when Cameron arrives in the midst of mud season (and yes, mud has a season in Vermont), or when Charley falls off the side of a mountain during a snowy run. The characters love to ski and snow-mobile, among other activities that require toasty fires in the wood stove and down comforters to keep them warm. ;-)

Time for another fun one! What are Charley and Tyler’s favorite food, color, car and sport?

Marie: They prefer cars with four-wheel drive, such as Tyler’s Range Rover, to get them around in the mountains during the winter. They both love to run, as you’ll see in the opening chapters of Ain’t She Sweet. As for the rest, well, you’ll have to read the book and decide for yourselves! Thanks for joining us today, and for giving us the opportunity to learn a little more about your latest book!

About the Book

aint she sweetCharlotte “Charley” Abbott has gone out with every guy under thirty-five in Butler, Vermont—except for one. Tyler Westcott’s attempts to date her may be determined, and frequent, but Charley can’t stand how he acts like he knows her better than she knows herself. So when Tyler turns up at the running club Charley joined to train for a marathon, she’s almost ready to quit before she even gets started. Tyler knows that behind Charley’s prickly personality and dismissive attitude is a sweet woman he wants in his life. And when Charley suffers an injury while training, Tyler is ready to prove that the perfect man for her has been right there all along…

Blog Tour: "River of Love" (Bradens of Peaceful Harbor) by Melissa Foster

New Release........
Book #3 The Bradens of Peaceful Harbor

Fall in love with Sam Braden in the Bradens of Peaceful Harbor. Hot, sexy, & wickedly naughty second cousins to the Weston, Colorado Bradens we know and love.

River rafting and adventure company owner Sam Braden works hard and plays harder. He’s fast, focused, and determined—and never at a loss for a willing woman to share his time with. The trouble is, the only woman he wants refuses him at every turn.

Physician assistant Faith Hayes escaped her painful past and built a safe, happy life in Peaceful Harbor. She’s also put what she’s learned to good use helping others by founding Women Against Cheaters, an online support group. When her boss’s sinfully sexy brother sets his sights on sweet Faith, she knows the self-professed player is everything she shouldn’t want, and she’s determined to resist him.

Sam pulls out all the stops, proving to Faith that his past doesn’t have to define his future. As she lets down her guard and begins to trust Sam, intense conversations turn to intimate pleasures. But when real life steps in and their pasts collide, it’s Faith who’s left with something to prove.

RIVER OF LOVE is part of the Love in Bloom series. While this can be read as a stand-alone novel, for even more reading enjoyment you may want to read the entire Love in Bloom series in series order.

My Review:

Another hot, sexy read set in the wonderful town of Peaceful Harbor. Honestly, I struggled to get started with this book, having trouble relating to the heroine and her struggles and concerns with Sam at the beginning, but as the story progressed, I became invested in Faith and Sam and their relationship.

Sam is perhaps one of the more complex characters I've read from Melissa Foster. He's alpha male, through and through, but has incredible insight into his own past behaviors. He's also a rare alpha-male that not only owns his feelings, but is comfortable talking about them. He actually wants to talk about his feelings. And that's exactly what Faith needs.

I think my biggest struggle at the beginning was that I wasn't feeling Faith's pain to the depth or extent that she did, so the creation of WAC felt like an over-reaction. But over time, I began to feel her pain and understood more where she was coming from. And being an internet and web-forum junkie, I get exactly how relationships can build online and be a real as ones that grew in person.

I was completely blind-sided (in a good way) by the event that challenges Faith and Sam's relationship, but really liked how Faith and Sam dealt with it and questioned themselves, as well as each other. It gave each of them an opportunity for self-reflection and introspection and an opportunity to see if their relationship could withstand the potential struggles they faced.

I love the entire Braden family and got an opportunity to catch up with some favorite members in this book. I look forward to coming back to Peaceful Harbor and checking in with the Bradens and some of the other characters the author has been introducing and endearing to the reader.

Also Available
Healed by Love (Love in Bloom, The Bradens of Peaceful Harbor #1)

A chance encounter brings Leesa and Cole together, and the attraction is immediate and intense. But a relationship is the last thing Leesa needs--and the only thing Cole wants. Review: "Hold on to Forever" (A Barefoot Bay Kindle Worlds novella) by Maria Geraci

Synopsis:

HOT, RICH, AND POWERFUL MEETS HIS MATCH AT A DESTINATION WEDDING IN BAREFOOT BAY

Jack Martinez has the world at his feet. Heir to Florida’s most lucrative personal injury law firm, women love him and insurance companies quake at the mention of his name. But Jack harbors a secret wish. He wants to start a small practice of his own, away from the limelight, and he’s counting on his younger brother to finish law school and take his place at their parents' firm.

Felicity Reed wants to save her family’s dying PR company. Landing a big client like Jack would be a dream come true, but she’s made a pitch and he’s already shot her down. Which makes it awkward when her baby sister and Jack’s younger brother decide to do a destination wedding at the Casa Blanca Resort in Mimosa Key.

When the soon-to-be newlyweds announce that they’re deferring law school, Jack offers Felicity a deal; help him convince the young couple to stick to their original plan and he’ll give her PR firm a slice of his business. Which seems easy enough until Felicity finds herself actually falling for the arrogant ambulance chaser. Now she’s going to have to make a choice between family loyalty or a chance on a forever love.

Genre: Contemporary Romance

My Review:
What do you get when you combine a wonderful author and a beautiful setting - a 5 star book! Maria Geraci delivers a wonderful, sweet story set in Roxanne St. Claire's Barefoot Bay. Fittingly, Ms. Geraci's characters arrive for a wedding, but find themselves wrapped up in each other quickly. Despite its short length, Ms. Geraci packs in a complete story, full of a couple of twists and turns, and the happily-ever-after the reader cheers for.

I love Jack - from the image we're given by Felicity, you expect an uptight, rich snob but instead get a wonderful, grounded man who has a lot of personal insight but is being stifled by his view of "family obligations". Felicity's life is being driven by similar misguided family obligations and when you put her and Jack together, the sparks fly. Ms. Geraci also gives us a great glimpse into the lives of the Barefoot Bay bridal planners and a wonderful opportunity for us to check-in with some of our favorite Roxanne St. Claire characters.

Maria Geraci was born in Havana, Cuba, and raised on Florida’s Space Coast. Her love of books started with the classic, Little Women (a book she read so often growing up, she could probably quote). She writes contemporary romance and women’s fiction with a happy ending. The Portland Book Review called her novel, The Boyfriend of the Month Club, “immensely sexy, immensely satisfying and humorous.” Her fourth novel, A Girl Like You, was nominated for Romance Writers of America’s prestigious RITA ® award.

Her current addictions include watching the STARZ adaption of OUTLANDER to drool over Sam Heughan, hitting the beach on the weekends, and searching for the perfect key lime pie recipe (but not the kind they served on Dexter).

Release Day Review: "It Had to Be Fate" by Tamra Baumann

Synopsis:

Falling for a bad-boy rock star is the last thing single mother Casey Anderson-Bovier should do. Embroiled in a custody battle with her ex, Casey is fighting to raise her boys in their quaint Colorado hometown—a secret haven for celebrities. But when it comes to her hotel’s newest guest, Casey can’t connect the dots. Is Zane Steele the out-of-control rocker plastered all over the media, or the captivating man with a killer smile who’s charming her and her two boys?

Zane has a good reason for letting the world believe the worst of him—and that’s a secret he’s sure he can never share…until he meets Casey. After years of having fans fall at his feet, he’s found the one woman who brings him to his knees. Casey is beautiful and intriguing—and thoroughly justified in not trusting him one bit, especially with her family at stake. But the only way to be together is to convince her to take a chance on him, on fate, and on their crazy, unexpected love.

Genre: Contemporary Romance

My Review:

Another great Anderson Butte story. The characters are always well-developed and humorous - you just never know what to expect from Grandma, and she doesn't disappoint. I love Casey - she's a fierce mama bear and I love her relationship with her kids. And Tomas is a guy that you love to hate! He was so well written, I wanted to reach into my Kindle and wring his neck. Then there's Zane - your classic hero and he doesn't disappoint. A classic rocker with a heart of gold, taking care of everyone in his life - something that has been drilled into him his entire life and reinforced by his mother on her deathbed. I love Zane and his honor and integrity.

The storyline was realistic and well-paced - I found myself turning the pages faster and faster to keep up with my racing mind. And the tie-ins back to previous books, and hints into future books keep me coming back to this series over and over.

Disclosure: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

My Review:

Remembering Everly is the long-awaited sequel to Forgetting August. The author wove an intricate web of situations at the end of Forgetting August that left the readers yearning for this book. The author does not disappoint. August and Everly are both complex characters that find themselves in continuous limbo in their relationship with each other, and with the other people in their lives. The author has the reader traveling a slow route to the ultimate climax of the story. As August slowly regains memories of his past life, each memory affect his life, and his relationship with Everly. The book is suspenseful and I found myself turning the pages faster and faster, wanting to reach the conclusion of the complicated situation they found themselves in. The supporting characters in this book also have interesting stories and more than once, I found myself shocked by a new twist the author included. It kept me guessing until the final pages, wondering whether August and Everly would find their way back to each other or each would find their happily-ever-after with someone else. The author had me feeling sorry for the collateral damage August and Everly cause with their complex relationship and I was extremely happy with the final resolution the author reveals in the epilogue. I can't say more about that without spoiling major aspects of the story, but I strongly recommend this book to anyone who loves romantic suspense with hot romantic scenes and heart-wrenching emotions.

Release Day Review: "You're Still the One" (Ribbon Ridge) by Darcy Burke

Synopsis:

USA Today bestseller Darcy Burke concludes her Archer family saga with a second chance at first love…

Everyone thought college sweethearts Bex Holmgren and Hayden Archer were headed for the altar… until a tragic accident sent young Bex running from a future she wasn’t ready to claim. But when she’s offered her dream job at Archer Brewing, Bex can’t pass up the chance to reconnect with the big, crazy family that once welcomed her with open arms—and the one man she’s never stopped loving.

When he returns home after a year in France, Hayden is less than thrilled to find his ex-girlfriend working for his family’s company. He’s finally moved on, and being around her rekindles long-buried feelings he’d rather ignore. But Bex isn’t the same girl he knew—she’s more mature, more beautiful, more tempting than ever—and he can’t resist the pull of the intense passion he’s only ever shared with her.

Have five years changed them enough, or are they doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past? The only thing Bex knows for sure is that for her, Hayden is still the one.

Genre: Contemporary Romance
My Review:

Just when I thought the Ribbon Ridge series couldn't get more emotional, Darcy Burke gives us You're Still the One. I love how the author gives us a family that may look perfect from the outside but is full of flaws, and personality conflicts, and issues like every family. It makes the Archers real to the reader. It's fitting that the last of the Archer children to get his happily-ever-after is the one who felt most left out his entire life, and we experience that emotion with him in this book. My heart ached for him as he worked through his issues with his family and feeling like the "odd man out".

You're Still the One is a wonderful "second chance at love" story, with Bex and Hayden having a relationship that ended with Bex left town five years ago. The dynamic of Bex's relationship with Hayden's family brought an interesting twist to their romantic relationship and complicated their separate returns to town. But when it counted, Hayden's family rallied behind him and beside him.

The emotions were riveting, the humor laugh-out-loud funny, and the sex was steamy in this "last" book in the Archer saga. But not to fear-- the author teases the reader with some new personalities that you want to get to know better--so while we are leaving Ribbon Ridge right now, I'm confident it's only temporary.

Review: "The Color of Forever" by Julianne MacLean

Synopsis:

Recently divorced television reporter Katelyn Roberts has stopped believing in relationships that last forever, until a near-death experience during a cycling accident changes everything. When she miraculously survives unscathed, a deeply-buried memory leads her to the quaint, seaside town of Cape Elizabeth, Maine.

There, on the rugged, windswept coast of the Atlantic, she finds herself caught up in the secrets of a historic inn that somehow calls to her from the past. Is it possible that the key to her true destiny lies beneath all that she knows, as she explores the grand mansion and its property? Or that the great love she’s always dreamed about is hidden in the alcoves of its past?

While each novel in the series can be read as a standalone, there are many more books to love in this series!

Genre: Contemporary Romance - Paranormal
My Review:
In The Color of Forever, Julianne MacLean weaves a complex, intriguing story. It's difficult to say everything I loved about this book without giving away spoilers, because her stories are so intricately-woven and follow a fascinating route to their conclusion.

The reader "knew of" Katelyn in the previous book - The Color of Time - and I felt myself wanting to read the previous book again to remind me of how her story affected the characters in the previous book before diving into this story. But there was no need, because Katelyn's story is here - or is it. The concept of a person's ability to affect your reality in your dreams in again present in this story, with its own twist.

The Color of Forever shouldn't be started unless you plan time to read it in one sitting, because you won't want to put it down. And like Katelyn, who mourned a life she didn't know she'd missed, I mourned the loss of these characters when The Color of Forever ended. I was fully engrossed in Katelyn's, Aaron's, Jack's, Sebastian's, and Evangeline's story, puzzled along with them as they navigated choppy waters, and missed them now their story is complete.

Katelyn's story ended the way it should have, but my heart hung still in my chest until it did, and my heart broke for the one who lost, although I know he'll find his own happily-ever-after eventually.

This is a clean story with a lot of romance but no explicit details. It makes the reader think about what could have been, and loves past, and makes you wonder if you are leading the life you're meant to be leading. Thought-provoking, emotionally-intense and riveting, Ms. MacLean delivers another 5-star romance in The Color of Forever.

You're Not Alone - Romantic Suspense
Author: Stacy Eaton
On SALE for 99¢

Trinity Morris, co-founder of You’re Not Alone, has a domestic violence past that still haunts her ten years later. She is devoted to helping victims find freedom and to sharing information on how to help them through their emotional and violent trials. While Trinity is presenting at a seminar, she comes across Gavin, a police officer who knows her past all too well.

It’s been ten years since he last saw her, but the moment Gavin’s eyes land on her, he’s intent on getting to know the woman who has haunted his dreams all these years.

Can Gavin break through the wall that Trinity has built around herself, or will the present and the past collide and take her away from him again?

Excerpt:
I watched one man walk by, his cellphone in his left hand, the pointer finger from his right hand sliding over the screen. He had strong forearms that peeked out of the rolled-up sleeves of his dark green dress shirt. I glanced up at the side of his face as he passed and sucked in a sudden breath.

The curve of his jaw, the angle of his nose, the short cut of his brown hair, all brought back a memory so suddenly, that I froze while only my eyeballs traced his path to the stairs. My feet froze in place while my heart galloped like a horse from a burning barn.

“Trinity, are you alright?” Brooke’s voice reached my ears, but I couldn’t speak. “Trinity? Trinity, are you still there?”

The man disappeared down the stairs and still I found myself stuck in place, stuck in a memory.
Brooke’s shrill voice in my ear yelling my name finally broke me out of my startled daze, and I shook my head to clear it. It couldn’t be him, it couldn’t be.

“Yeah, I’m here,” I cleared my throat of the sudden emotion that had lodged there.

“What happened?” she all but yelled in my ear.

“Nothing,” I cleared my throat again, “nothing. I dropped the phone, sorry.” I closed my eyes, willing my heart to slow down again.

“Oh, okay. Well, you sure you’re alright to do this?” Her voice was back in its normal friendly range.
I swallowed, “Yes, I’m fine. It’s just another lecture, no big deal.”

“You keep telling yourself that.” She laughed and we said our goodbyes after I told her I would call her when I was done.

I hit the button to end the call and scanned the area. Other than some employees bustling into the lecture hall to clean it up, I was alone. No, not alone, I was just by myself for the moment. I thought about going down to where they were serving lunch, but I rejected it.

I was usually a bit uneasy before I spoke, and now my empty stomach seemed to be roiling after that memory had passed through my mind.

I glanced around the hallway, intent on finding a peaceful place where I could gather my thoughts. I saw the door down the hallway and quickly entered the women’s restroom.

Inside, I found exactly what I needed, and I sank into a deep burgundy chair in the sitting area. Closing my eyes, I took a few deep breaths.

On the back of my eyelids the memory flashed again, only this time it was with the pulsing flash of amber ambulance lights around me. The strong solid chin, the thin pointed nose, the soft green eyes set back behind thick eyelashes blinked with the lights of the emergency vehicle. He wasn't looking at me as my eyes opened, he had turned so I only saw his profile for a moment before it was replaced with other people and darkness sank in around me again.

I felt my pulse ticking quickly in my throat, the pain from that moment so long ago almost as alive as the memory. I lifted my hand and allowed my fingers to slide over my throat. I took a shaky breath to shove away the pain.

That was ten years ago and far away from here. There was no way that could be him.
